If you have been following our Instagram #petzlroctrip adventures, you’ve seen the beautiful sights and climbs in Turkey, brought to you our very own Omer. Below is a letter from him to Brooklyn, giving us a first-hand account of what the trip has been like thus far:
Three youth climbers – Georgia Bank, Arabella Wally and Ryan Fanchiotti – crushed their way through regional and divisional competitions in order to qualify.
Getting to nationals is no easy task. Climbers must first place in the top seven, within their respective categories, in the regional competition, and then do the same at the divisional competition to qualify for nationals. With just five divisions in the entire country, making it to Nationals means facing off against many, many talented climbers.
Congratulations to this exceptional group of young climbers, and good luck in Colorado!
A community is a beautiful thing. Communities accomplish great things because they have goals, habits and language in common. Certain communities transcend the space in which they commune, creating a synergy that can be felt beyond a physical space. This is the case with the climbing community at Brooklyn Boulders.
We wanted to take a deeper look at our community.
Our goal: to capture what it’s like where people climb and hang.
